Christmas this year was quite different from my normal tradition and routine.  I mean I was at the most magical place in the world, Disney World!

My mom wanted to get away this year so instead of giving large presents she decided that we would do Disney. In the end we spent most of our time at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure in order to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  The latter was amazing but Universal in general was crazy crowded during the holiday break.  Long lines and lots of people. Disney did a much better job with crowd control and even with the park closing to capacity we were able to ride all day with the longest line of maybe 30 minutes.  This compared to a 2 hr wait for a Harry Potter’s Forbidden Journey.

All the same we had a great time and I loved getting away from the New York cold for a few days.

Macy’s Parade at Universal-the atmosphere at both parks was the highlight of the trip. You could feel the holiday spirit all around.
