Friday night Ryan and I met up with 2 friends for a NY Vintners Holiday Food and Wine Pairing event.

We started with a Cava as everyone made their way to the class.

We then sampled 2 new world whites, one very acidic, and one very fruity to pair with a cheesy polenta cake with sauteed brussel sprouts served on top of a red pepper puree.  So good!

Next up we were on to the reds, a chocolatey/cherry wine from Spain and an orangey but a very tannic red from Italy. Which was paired with a pork sausage and stuffing. Loved the stuffing which was full of caramelized onions and blue cheese.

Not easy making a sausage look photogenic.

The meal was finished off with a sparkling rose. Delicious!

Love New York Vintners.
